Day 5 - Los Angeles, CA

It's a beautiful day here on Hermosa Beach. Ayo (www.ayoawosika.com) and I flew in November 20th for phase two of the record....dun da da dun...VOCALS! It's been quite a ride. The follow is what I came here with.

It's a good thing that I'm a slave driver, and I have people that will appease me, because we've been non-stop since Syracuse. Eddie J (aka, Eddie Jackson...producer/engineer extraordinaire) is a pro-tools monster! You'll see what I mean soon. I HAVE A DATE! JANUARY 21st!!! My CD release. Yeahh buddy.

Day 6 - Syracuse, NY

So many great things are happening in Syracuse. Magic. Magic I tell you. Lindsay and Louis are currently talking about the wasp family in the window. Eddie filled up a pint glass with coffee. Downtown has resumed his daily position on the computer, and Adam Tressler....Adam Tressler is laying down amazing, nutty, sweet, awesome, fresh guitar parts.

Why is Lindsay here? Well, because she extended her trip. She's staying 'til Thursday now. How sweet it is. I can hardly control myself.

Dave Madden is in flight. Soon and very soon (name that song) this album will officially have keys on it. AND there are so many to pick from. This studio has a Rhodes, Whirley, some crazy Organ thingy, and some other things....

Ooooppps, Louis is running for his Lactate. No wonder that coffee tastes so good.

Day 3 - Syracuse, NY

Holy moly! Basics are old news. On to more exciting endeavors. Such as, whistling, and clapping, and kicking Downtown out - back to Boston. He's been a champ and all, but there are only so many drums a sessions needs, you know?

Lindsay is convinced we'll find a ghost (we are in a church...an old one...one with a bell tower...that we might climb up....soon).

We are just starting our listening party, which will conclude a 12 hour day. It's a labor of love, if you ask me. However, James and Louis might be asleep rather quickly. The nodding has already started. More Dunkin Donuts coffee!

Day 1 - Syracuse, NY

This is day one of the first Megan Burtt & The Cure for Love recording. I'm trying not to wet myself. This day has been such a long time coming. The guys will be arriving any moment. Eddie and Mark are setting up in the tracking room. Lindsay will be here tomorrow. I think this was the best decision I've ever made.

I created this blog so you peops who read these things can keep up with me during this process. May amazing music vibrate in these walls for the next week.
